of selected papers published based on the peer review results and the next ICTA2018 CALL FOR PAPERS, WORKSHOPS PROPOSALS, EXHIBITORS & SPONSORS as further update from the 4th International Conference on Transportation in Africa (ICTA2017) which was successfully held at Sheraton Hotel, Abuja,Nigeria on 11th – 13th October, 2017.
Once again, the conference was officially opened by the Immediate past President,Nigerian Society of Engineers, Engr. Isaac Olorunfemi as the Guest Speaker . The Keynote presentation was given by Dr Jerome Egwurube,Central Queensland University, Australia. The delegates were officially welcomed by Engr. Obiekwe Anaduaka, President of Nigerian Institution of Highway & Transportation Engineers, Abuja, Nigeria.
Professional workshops were facilitated by Dr Charles Adams,Kwame Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology, Kumasi, Ghana; and Dr. Jerome Egwurube.
Technical papers were presented by presenters from Germany, Australia, Botswana, Ghana, Namibia,
Nigeria as the co-host.
Nigerian Institution of Highway & Transportation Engineers in conjunction with Federal Capital Territory Development Authority, Abuja co-sponsored the Technical site visit while staff members of Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) were sponsored to participate.
The conference attracted participants from Australia, Germany, African countries such as Ghana, Botswana, Uganda, Namibia, Liberia, Nigeria
It is our hope that the various institutions/ organisations of African countries will make use of recommendations and deliberations from this important conference for the benefit of the people of this continent. Nigeria as the co-host is going to utilize resolutions from the conference in order to realize “Effective Maintenance, Safety and Funding for Sustainable Transportation Infrastructure in Africa”.
